MISSION:
As well as being committed to the mission of the International Associationof Fire Fighters, Local 820 commits foremost to the well being of its membership by supporting their endeavors in service, safety, education and community.
SERVICE:
- Encourage our members to serve the citizens of Chattanooga with commitment and dedication.
- Support our members' ideas and innovations.
SAFETY:
- Assure that emergency responders are fully protected with the latest and best protective clothing, equipment, tools and technology available.
- Provide the latest literature on safety procedures and techniques.
- Promote the physical and mental well being of the emergency responders.
EDUCATION:
- Advise our members on the advantages of higher education.
- Encourage our members to train and achieve certification.
- Assist our members with advancement in the department.
COMMUNITY:
- Local 820 proudly sponsors two fundraisers each year for charitable causes.
- Provide smoke alarms for the hearing impaired.
- Support kids with terminal illnesses.
- Provide workers for the Muscular Dystrophy drives.
- Lecture on life safety at neighborhood meetings.
- Lecture on fire prevention and public safety at local schools.
