"Kids Day Out" is a program that began in 2000 as a way for the kids being treated at T.C. Thompson's Childrens Hospital's Cancer Center to get away from the hospital environment with their families and enjoy the great local attractions Chattanooga has to offer and is co-sponsored by the Local 820 and the Fraternal Order of Firefighters. In May of 2000 we took the kids to the Tennessee River for a ride on the Southern Belle, an authentic sternwheeler boat. Then it was off to the Warner Park Zoo to visit the animals and enjoy a super picnic!
The Kids Day Out Program is one of our favorite activities, as you'll see why...

Kids Day Out -2001
Kid's Day Out 2001 was held at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and was once again a tremendous success, thanks to our local, the FOF, and to all the volunteers who gave their time to give these great kids a super day to remember. A special thanks goes to Wayne Walker who coordinates the event. (pictures are coming soon)
