Concerts
The Chattanooga Fire Fighters Association, Local 820, sponsors two (2) concerts per year at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium in downtown Chattanooga. These concerts are our primary means of raising funds which we then use to help other non-profit organizations in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area as well as assisting our members by sending them to various training seminars and conferences. We annually support organizations such as the American Red Cross, Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Salvation Army, Chattanooga Speech & Hearing, Hamilton County Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of Chattanooga and many others. In 2007 we donated over $34,000 to local agencies!!! The 2008 numbers will be in soon.
Our phone solicitations are based on the honor system! When our caller contacts you and determines your interest in helping us, we mail you the tickets and then you return the money to us. If you do not wish to use the tickets they can be returned with the money and we will then donate the tickets to one of the local child shelters homes for use.
In the past we have had such well known entertainers as The Drifters, The Tams, Billy Joe Royal, B. J. Thomas, John Anderson, Sammy Kershaw, Joe Diffie, The New Rascals and others.

| Few artists have ever written a song that has become more a part of America’s cultural landscape than Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” If he’d never written or recorded another hit, Greenwood would have secured his place in music history with that powerful inspiring ballad.
“God Bless the USA” has been voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America, taking the top honor over “God Bless America” and the “National Anthem,” but it is only one of the many hits that have propelled Greenwood’s successful career. With his distinctive voice, insightful songwriting and unparalleled showmanship, Greenwood has been captivating audiences for decades.
Along the way, he has won numerous accolades including two Male Vocalist of the Year awards from the Country Music Association and the CMA Song of the Year honor in 1985 for “God Bless the USA,” the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Patriot Award and the Top Male Vocal Performance in 1983 for “I.O.U.” His lengthy string of hits includes such classics as “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands,” “It Turns Me Inside Out,” “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose)” and “Dixie Road.” |
